Glimpse the RED

GREAT NEWS!!

On my lunch break I went to the mall to get Liz's bach present... ANNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDD...

...I peaked into a shoe store I've never before seen to quickly scan for some red cowboy boots JUST IN CASE and what do ya know?!
I FOUND THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE PERFECT AND MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I didn't get them yet...I was late getting back to work so I couldn't even try them on but I threw them at the store man and said "HIDE THESE, I'LL BE BACK IN 2 HOURS!"  He laughed and told me he would guard them with his life.
Now yes, you could say there are plenty around. But not the perfect pair, guys. Those are hard to find. I didn't want TOO much cowboy, but it had to be in there. They had to be the perfect height and the legs couldn't be too tight...I'm telling you, they were made for ME!

SO stay tuned for a shot of my beautiful new boots. That I will wear everyday of my life starting tonight. To the Bachlorette Party.

In the meantime, here are some pretty shots of red. In honor of my new boots. I LOVE RED!

I'm in LOVE with Cate Blanchett's gorgeous red hair in Benjamin Button. Also I've had the need to watch this movie for a couple days now...probably tonight. Done and done.

Free Food Once Again

Oh My Free Food

I guess me getting let go was good timing...right when they take away free lunch Fridays I move to a new office where we get free breakfast Fridays!! And I'm not talking a muffin and a juice box, I just ate pancakes and bacon and strawberries and ORANGE JUICE!!!

 Yah.
I guess I can handle this...probably... :)
Everyone is really great. It's me and 8 married guys...but they're all really friendly and I think this is a good fit for me.
Plus they work with people from Thrive so I'll get to see my old bosses in here every once in awhile. Big thanks to them for getting me this job!

So here's to another day! Plus it's Friday so it'll be a good day :)

Maybe I have a bachlorette party to go to tonight and I still don't have my gift...don't worry Liz, I'm on it...

Maybe I hate the smell of syrup but I have my plate in the trash here next to me so that's all I'll smell all day...

Maybe I slept 10 hours last night...

Maybe my boss is awesome and also I work with 3 real live body builders. Like REAL LIVE. It's just a teeny bit scary...

Maybe I am missing my 9 year old baby sister play a munchkin this weekend for the high school play in Ohio...

Maybe driving a half hour to work and a half hour back sucks but I think it'll be worth it...

Movie Day

My productive day turned into movie day. AFTER the gym and my laundry though, so that's good! Dallen and I went to see How To Train Your Dragon. It was SOOO CUTE!!! I just loved it. Dallen, you are a rock star. Shame on my roomies for leaving me alone on my last day of freedom!

Being my last day of freedom I thought I would say farewell to those who have gotten me through this period of boredom.

Dear Late Morning/Early Afternoon,
It was so nice to wake up to you again. It's been a long time. Even though you make me feel lazy, it was good while it lasted.

Dear Amanda and Jose,
Bless your hearts for letting me be a pizza delivery girl, everyone should experience that at least once! I love big tippers!

Dear Char,
It was SOOOO fun to see you :) Perfect timing for me to lose my job haha, I got to hang out with you for the first time since last year. I heart you so much and I hope you feel better soon!

Dear Blog,
I hope you don't get neglected and I can continue to keep you going. I'm so glad I still love you even though Thrive is no longer part of our lives.

Dear Junk Food,
It is time, once again, to take you out of my life. You got me through my mourning period but I would like to be a healthy grown up once again. Unfortunately that brings early morning gym visits into the picture as well...

Dream_On__by_vegetarianvampire94_large.jpg

So I have a lot to accomplish today before life gets busy again.

Laundry
Gym
Groceries
Bank
blah blah blah...

It will be a full day.

I woke up around 8 so I could watch Avatar for the first time. I was never planning on seeing it, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews. I got it for free so I figured I might as well watch it, right?? So I did.
I thought it was a great movie!! Not an all time favorite, but it was very well done and has many great messages.

Someones watching over me...

My stress level has gone WAY down.....

I have 3 job offers right now. 2 part times that would work great together and 1 full time that would be a 40 minute commute. All I have to do is choose.

Hallefrickinlujiah

This morning on the treadmill I was reading my Shape magazine and I came to some great advise and thought I would share it here:

"Too often we accept the unacceptable from people: a friend who is always late, a co-worker who slacks off, or a partner who doesn't respect our feelings. This month break the cycle! Don't allow yourself to be taken advantage of."

PS. Does anyone know a good place to get some cute red cowboy boots. Not too pricey....??? I'm STILL searching for the perfect pair...

My Troll is Trying to Escape....

Cholo told me a story last night, which ended up being told about 4 more times as more family came over for the party. So now I feel it necessary to share with my blogging friends.

Jose (Cholo) owns a 5 Buck Pizza and this is what happened to one of his employee's brother.
We will call the brother Charly. Charly is mentally handicapped, but he is capable of living on his own, which he does.

Charly calls his mom Friday night and says. "Mom, I want you to come over and see my new troll!"

His mom says "I can't right now, I'm a little busy"
After more and more persistence from Charly, his mom finally said "You can bring your troll to dinner on Sunday and I can see it then, alright?"

Hours passed and about 2 in the morning Charly calls his dad up. "Dad! I need your help! My troll is trying escape!!"
Of course Charly's dad knows it's about time he goes to see what is going on. He heads over to Charly's apartment and when he walks inside he sees all the furniture is pushed up against the closet door and there is banging coming from inside.
He rushes to open the door to find a Jehovah Witness midget in the closet.
While innocently dropping off a pamphlet, Charly thought that this poor man was a troll and captured him.

True Story.

In Memory Of...

(iphone camera warning)

This weekend was the 4th Sunday so we went to Joe and Krisi's Midway. We celebrated the April birthdays as well as March since there were some sickies last month.
Happy Birthday to Aunt Mary and Amanda.
After dinner, dessert, and the Jazz game ( WHOOO 117-106 ) we went to say goodbye to Grandma at her house. She was all tears, that one. But what's new? I love her to pieces.
Amanda wanted to show Jose Grandpa's library.

Grandpa died about 2 years ago just 3 months shy of his 100th birthday. He served as a merchant marine for over 27 years. He married my grandma on his 53rd birthday and they lived together in Midway for 41 years. He was an amazing man. I've always known he was a sailor but it never really hit me what that must have meant.  Grandma showed us a hat of his and on it he had written all the places he had been.

I wish you could see the names better but just a handful were: Iran, Italy, Philippine Islands, Panama, Red Sea, Gibraltar, Honolulu, Mediterranean Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Persian Gulf, Caribbean Sea, Arabian Sea, Nova Scotia, Sicily, Balboa...that’s all I can read from the pics I took.

He went everywhere. It's in my blood :)

Amanda and I went through a lot of the things in the library, it was so neat to see all the things Grandpa had saved through the years. Here is a box of tickets from around the world. From theaters and such:

Don't you love cell phone cameras? I mean really...

Here are just some random memories from when I was younger:

Before we left Grandma insisted that Jose play the piano for us. After grandma played some hymns and Jose jumped in and followed making it a gorgeous duet. It was so sweet, really incredible. They have the same musical gift. Grandma was just in tears when they finished, it was really beautiful.

I love my family. It's so nice to be close and get to know them better even though some may be gone from this Earth.

Lean Like A Cholo

Cholo is my hero.  For housing reasons. For storage reasons. For sisterly reasons.

I gave a talk in church today on faith. He brought my sister to see me.

I got new lipstick. I love it. Nobody else does cuz I have to kiss a few people everytime. Maybe it stains their faces.

Paige from Camptown Vintage gave me an award :) I heart you Paige! Thank you!!

The Rules
1. Thank the person who nominated me
2. Copy the award and place it on my blog
3. Link to the person who nominated me
4. Nominate 15 bloggers
5. Post links to the 15 blogs I nominate

So here are my favorites that I would like to give this award to...and I'm sorry to break the rules. I am only going to pass on to 10. Not because I only have 10 favorites, just for times sake. They are in no particular order :)

Day A La Becky

If it wasn't for this morning I would have said today was perfect. It was good enough though!
When I got home Becky and I were going to go see Provo Castle and on the way we stopped at the cutest store I've ever been in. Cherry Lane Boutique, we walked every inch of it. Twice.

There were these amazing cards called Curly Girl Design. We both bought our Mother's Day cards and she picked the perfect one out for me and I had to buy and frame it.

There were a gazillion amazing purses, jewlery galore, and pretty much everything you could imagine. It was beautiful. There were some great quotes around on the wall that I loved:

When we got home BRITTANY HAD A PUPPY HERE WAITING FOR ME!!! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen.

This was after we wore him out, of course.

Now my lover Becky, and her lover Christian, got me some delicious pizza and found Chocolat for sale at Blockbuster. I've been looking for this movie forEVER!

It's making me want to go to Europe NOW. Anyone know any friends or family over there that would like to house a stranger for a little bit?? Then I will be a gyspy.

....I love you Johnny D
