handprint on my heart

One of my favorite people, Stacey, over at Design Addict Mom awarded me so generously :) She is amazing so go on over for a little visit.

Along with accepting this award I am to answer some questions. Here I go::

1. Why do I blog?
hmmm...well I started because I was super bored at work and the girl before me told me it's a great way to make time pass. So she showed me how to blog and I loved it. I remember my first comment from a stranger and got sooo excited.  Then once regulars developed I just loved it even more. I get so much inspiration from blogs and that makes me want to put my opinion out there as well. So I do.
Plus! you can print it out into a book so it's like your own journal for family to read down the road. Why not?!

2. What are your 3 best memories?
I have so many good ones. A recent one would have to be putting on the gorilla suit to cheer Kleresa up. That I will never forget!
And...when my little sister got engaged on top of the ferris wheel at Cedar Point, thank you Jose for allowing me to witness that.
Finally...the third would be a spread out period of time, thinking back on how I got to the point of life I am at now.  That's a miracle.

3. Name 2 of the best books you've ever read:
First would be Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert DUH
Second best book ever...The Scarlett Letter

4. What are the 5 best movies ever made?
This one is easy. Not in any special order...
#1 The Curious Case of Benjamin Button #2 Under The Tuscan Sun #3 Chocolat #4 Letter's To Juliette  #5 The long version of Pride and Prejudice

5. Name 5 things you cannot live without:
#1 my camera #2 toothbrush and toothpaste #3 internet access #4 Kleresa and Alicia #5 ravioli

6. If you could change your name, what would it be?
Princess Consuela Banana Hammock...just kidding. I like my name.

7. Tell us a unique and interesting fact about yourself:
I very rarely get embarrassed. Sometimes not the best thing cuz other people are embarrassed for me, but I like embarrassing other people!

8. If you had a "Freaky Friday" experience, who would you change lives with?
Don't judge but I would trade lives with Angelina Jolie. Everyone has their own opinions of this woman, and of course she isn't perfect. She has made plenty of mistakes, but she has really come back from them. She has a dream to be a mother and look what that's become. Look at those things that she has been able to do for some many people. She knows who she is and she lives up to it. Plus of course, she is incredibly successful.

9. What is the best thing about being a woman?
..the paragative to have a little fun...just kidding
ummm...to me the best part is the ability we have to be sweet and nourishing. Woman are just so much better, right?

Now to pass on the award :) I just love my followers, and I have some people that comment every day without fail, you are the ones that keep me going, my friends.

thoughts at 4am

It's 4 am...I had a loooonnng dream that it was Monday and I was running late. I was still with my friends and I hadn't even done my laundry or packed yet and was supposed to be at the airport in 15 minutes.
Of course that's not where the dream ends, my body waits to wake up until after I freak out, calling for help, going crazy. THEN I wake up and can't get back to sleep.

I couldn't get comfortable on those couch cushions I've been sleeping on so I laid awake for about a half hour until I saw a flash of lightening outside the window and decided to come out on the deck to watch the rain.

It's not bothering me that I can't sleep, it's nice to come out and enjoy this Utah weather before I leave.

For some reason nighttime is when my mind goes crazy, it thinks about things I don't even care about during the day. It worries and stresses over silly things I'm way passed. But I can't seem to calm it down even when I wake up. What is that about?

Yesterday was an emotional but eventful day. I got to hang out with Brittany and say goodbye and I got to go to the Draper Temple. But the whole day was jam packed with thoughts of so many things. Of my life and the life of those I love. People that are close to me and are suffering. Some of them don't even realize it. But I can't do anything about it.

What do you do when you feel helpless? What do you do when you see someone going down the exact path you have already been down and can't do anything to help. They just won't understand until they experience it. How can I help them see that life can be so different, so much happier? All the while, not sending them running in the opposite direction like I did when people tried to give me advice.  I know I need to be patient. I know we all have to learn for ourselves. But that is really painful...watching someone you love head straight for destruction.

Any advice?

hide yo kids hide yo wife

With 3 days left until I leave the States, we are all a bit emotional. Last night Kleresa let out a days worth of tears she had been holding in. It makes me sad to see her sad so...I go to Dr. Kyle. He has a gorilla suit...I borrowed it for a bit. The night turned out much happier...Kleresa and Alicia almost peed themselves.  I'm not kidding. They had to run in for a potty break they were laughing so hard. Then we went around the complex.

Best parts of the night were those people that left their doors unlocked. Imagine turning around to face a gorilla in your bedroom.

One apartment was having some kind of party so we snuck in there and kidnapped Corinne. She was freaking OUT til she knew it had to be me.

I'll tell ya what, you sure cannot break in that thing! I was sweating like you wouldn't believe. When we got back to the apartment I kicked that suit off as fast as possible.

Such a good night. I love you girls!!

The City of New Orleans

I watched The Princess and the Frog yesterday for the first time since the theaters and I liked it so much more the second time. I still wouldn't let my little kids watch all that voodoo crap, but it's a great story with great music. I love the way they portrayed New Orleans, so sweet :)

I would love to take a trip there...it's one of those cities in the U.S. that makes you sigh...But I would prefer to not visit around Mardi Gras to be honest...

Double Devils

Yesterday in Logan we decided that dessert was a necessity and Kleresa was going nuts trying to remember a good place. She kept saying "It had the word 'blue' in it, or it was blue inside...or something".  This was years ago, for all we know she had the color wrong!

THEN we passed "The Bluebird" on Main Street and she went ballistic! That was the place, we had to go in there and do you know what?? It was the cutest thing! This place was built in 1914 and doesn't seem to have changed since. They had the cutest little ice cream parlor in there! Kleresa and I got Double Devils, pretty much giant ice cream sundaes with brownies in there. Yum. Shantel got herself a HUGE banana split. The place was amazing.

If you are ever around Logan, be sure to stop by The Bluebird :)

Stories of the Road

We had ourselves a fun little road trip, just went to Logan for the day and got back in time for FHE. We went to visit good old Layten, and luckily I got to see my cousin, Cherise one more time before I leave. She would shoot my face in if I put our picture up though...so you'll just have to use your imagination.

Random Memory Shots::

Layten quotes of the day::

~(Driving through a neighborhood) "Turn left, turn left, turn left, turn left, ("Layten, we've been down this street twice now") turn right, turn left, turn left, wait no! Hold on, let me think...k turn left..."

~(Walking with Mason to go pick up his suit) "it's this way..." (a block and a half later) " actually, I think it was the other way..."

~(Talking about how he got the job of helping a 92 year old lady in her garden) "Well...she's my friends sisters husbands friends wifes cousin's mother in law's mom"

~(showing us the garden, he comes around the corner with a big gun) "hold on, I've got to check for squirrels first"

Little Italy

These next 4 days are my last with my favorite people ever, it's so funny when we randomly break into tears. Then someone starts yelling "IT'S OK!! SHE IS COMING BACK IN 5 MONTHS!!!" Presh...

Last night we went to Gloria's Little Italy. One word::YUM.

We had to sit and wait for about 30 minutes before we were seated, so we bonded. It was beautiful.
I leaned over to tell Shayna I was all emotional because I just wanted to be in Italy. They had giant paintings around, we had to get pictures by our favorites. Shayna has about the same passion for Italy as I do. So tender.

Of course we had to get some Gelato's, it's an Italian restaraunt! SOOOO good, maybe we sampled a little too much... (my total? 9)

If you've got a Gloria's Little Italy anywhere near by, I say go for it! It's amazingly declicious. You are welcome.

THE DREAM IS REAL...

K so I finally went and saw Inception last night...I'm SOOOO CONFUSED....

Everyone is saying how it's the best movie they've ever seen, but guess what? I don't understand the ending...can someone enlighten me?

For the most part, I was able to follow up to the very last scene. You know? This part...

If you haven't seen this movie, do NOT read the comments. Unless you want to ruin the whole thing...

Human Twister

I'm watching Julie and Julia for the frist time, with my ladies :)

Things have been crazy round here...I'm all moved out of my apartment and living at K's!! Loving life my last 2 weeks in the U.S.

Question :: Have you ever played Human Twister??!!

Well I have, TWO TIMES!!!

How to play? I shall tell you...

1. get a group together, stand in a circle, boy/girl, boy/girl if possible.
2. someone starts, moves their right foot to touch one of the feet of the person to the right of you. got that? read it again.
3. THEY then move the foot that has been touched to one of the feet on the person to the right one THEM, and so on and so on.
4. Rules : You only move the foot that has been "tagged" and you ONLY "tag" the same person the whole game, no matter how far away that person is.
5. If you touch the ground with anything but your feet, you are OUT!

It doesn't seem like much at first

but then...

As a fair warning, you may want to be prepared to get extremely close to those who maybe around you...
